Privacy Policy

Who we are

Letting Go is a personal project, developed and published by Sofus Bech (fireatwill.org), who is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. For anything privacy-related, email hello@fireatwill.org.

Data the app stores

Everything you put into Letting Go — the items you log, your 30-Day Game progress and streaks, wait timers and the prices you note, and your settings — is stored locally on your device. We run no servers, there is no account to create, and we have no technical means of seeing, collecting, or selling any of it.

iCloud sync

If your device has iCloud enabled, your Letting Go data syncs through your own private iCloud storage so it can follow you to a new phone. That sync happens entirely between your device and your Apple Account, under Apple’s privacy policy — we cannot access your iCloud data. You can turn this off for Letting Go in your device’s iCloud settings.

Analytics, ads & tracking

In the app: none. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and no third-party code that phones home. It does not track you across other apps or websites. If you have chosen in iOS settings to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may provide us aggregated, de-identified crash and usage statistics; these contain nothing that could identify you, and that sharing is controlled entirely by you and Apple.

On this website: we use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count page views. It sets no cookies, assigns you no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you across other sites. It records only aggregate, anonymous figures — which pages were viewed, rough visitor counts, referring site, browser, operating system, and country. It does not collect your IP address in a form we can see, your name, your email, or anything you have logged in the app. Because no personal data is stored, there is nothing to consent to and nothing for us to sell, and this site shows no cookie banner. Nothing from the app ever reaches it — the two are entirely separate.

Purchases

Letting Go is a one-time purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details go to Apple, not to us — we never see them.

If you email us

When you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to fix whatever prompted you to write, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in supporting the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep support emails only as long as needed and delete them on request. This is the only personal data we ever hold.

Data retention & deletion

Your app data stays on your device until you remove it: delete entries in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. Any iCloud copy can be removed through your device’s iCloud settings. To have a support email deleted, just ask.

Your rights under the GDPR

If you are in the EU or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to the processing of, and erase your personal data. Because your app data never reaches us, you can exercise most of these rights directly: everything is on your device, in your control. For support emails, write to us and we’ll act on your request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

International transfers

We transfer no personal data anywhere — we never receive it in the first place. iCloud sync is operated by Apple under its own safeguards for international data transfers.

Children’s privacy

Letting Go is not directed at children, and since the app collects no personal data, none is collected from children either. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices ever change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. The promise at the heart of it — your data stays yours, on your device — is the point of the app, and it won’t change.
